Title IX
Title IX is a federal civil rights law passed as part of the Education Amendments of 1972. This law protects people from discrimination based on sex in education programs or activities that receive Federal financial assistance. Title IX states that:
“No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.”
TITLE IX COORDINATOR AND CONTACT INFORMATION
The District designates and authorizes the following person as the Title IX coordinator to be responsible for coordinating the District’s efforts to comply with Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, as amended, for students:

GT Testing
Per TEA, the requirement to administer new assessments for G/T identification is waived for the Spring of 2020. Students referred for identification and assessment will be assessed in the Fall semester of 2020. REFERRAL AND SCREENING: Referrals for the Gifted and Talented Program may be made by parents, educators, students, counselors, or community members. To refer a student for gifted and talented program evaluation, contact Brinn Ball at 325.357.4449. Qualitative and quantitative measures shall be used for GT program placement. Assessment tools may include, but are not limited to, the following: ability tests, achievement tests, creativity measures, and observation inventories. Final determination of a student’s need for Gifted and Talented services is made by a committee of district educators. A balanced review of the data will be conducted before making identification and placement decisions.
Location
Panther Creek CISD is located in southern Coleman County, approximately 16 miles south of the city of Coleman and 8 miles south of Valera on FM 503. It is approximately 70 miles east of San Angelo.
The district covers an area of 563.43 square miles.
